Harnessing nature to fight climate change

The problem: Healthy forests, soils and oceans have a natural ability to remove carbon from the atmosphere, as well as the potential to help stabilize our climate. But activities like deforestation, unsustainable farming practices and coastal development are weakening nature’s ability to do this.

What we’re doing about it: We’re working with governments, companies, the communities most affected by extreme weather and the local populations that are safeguarding these ecosystems. Together, we’re conserving and restoring natural areas to keep carbon locked up in these soils, trees and the ocean — to curb climate change and support local communities.
